Our team works hard each day to make Lingofy as helpful as possible. We are a smart, kind and (occasionally) funny group of people who are passionate about developing tools to bring editing into the 21st century. Thanks to the supersonic boom that is the internet’s growth, we believe it’s more important than ever to give you tools that streamline and improve the writing and editing process. People across every job title and industry need to provide clean, consistent copy to compete and earn trust in our online world. Lingofy can help with that.
Lingofy is a proofing tool. It’s a style tool. It can be used by one person or many people. The most important thing to understand about Lingofy is that it’s actually two tools in one:
Lingofy proofing extension: This is the button you install in order to proof copy. You can add it to your preferred browser or certain programs. When you click the Lingofy button, you see a menu of proofing options that come standard. You can also add your own custom proofing options to that menu. You do that by using the Lingofy Manager.
Lingofy Manager: This is how YOU control what Lingofy checks for and suggests when you click on the Lingofy proofing extension. The Lingofy Manager, accessed by logging into Lingofy.com, lets you:
- Enter custom entries for any terms or multi-word phrases
- Organize and share some or all of your entries
- Pair local, custom entries with published references (such as AP style)
- Review your proofing statistics: accepted, rejected and ignored Lingofy suggestions
- Communicate with other users
- Tailor your proofing rules to match your content topic or client
- Proof your content from anywhere with an internet connection
Lingofy can ensure that any name, product or title is spelled and styled the same way in every use. It can point out where you have used the right word, but in the wrong context. It can offer guidance to improve and clarify your writing.
We hope you enjoy using and customizing Lingofy to improve your content. We believe software cannot replace people when it comes to great copy; but it can make the process of producing great copy faster and more collaborative.
